Beginner

(Age range 4-5)

In Classover’s beginners piano course, students learn the basics of the music language, treble clef, and  develop a sense for orientation on piano. Playing only with the right hand. Practicing acquired  knowledge with games, drawings, and playing songs. For this course, Classover has prepared for your  children a free book of songs, so they can also play them after the class.

 Learning the basics of the music language – music staff and the letters of the music language are  explained and presented visually. Also, they will learn how to draw a note.

 Making difference between the first three notes of the treble clef and practicing it with games  and songs.

Recognizing the difference between short and long notes and creating a sense for counting and  rhythm.

 Involving all five fingers in playing and learning the first five-finger scale.

Learning and forming the hand posture that will ensure better playing.

 Learning the longest note and developing a sense for equal rhythmical counting.

Learning the last two new notes which require adapting new techniques – crossing over/under fingers and changing hand position.

 Grouping all eight notes of the C major scale with technique exercises and renewing previously  learned knowledge with songs.

Advanced

(Age range 7-9)

Classover’s advanced piano course is dedicated to learning how to play with both hands at the same  time. Developing a sense for coordination of the hands and reading two rows of notes simultaneously.  Also, this course is dedicated to new musical terms and techniques that enrich the music knowledge of  the student.

 Learning the difference between the rows of right and left hand.

 Developing a sense for playing with both hands. Practicing songs for both hands that are  constructed on the switch method – both hands are playing but not at the same time.

With legato/slurs, students will learn the first technique that creates a different sound.

Learning the opposite piano playing technique of legato.

 Students will learn how to play with both hands at the same time. Developing coordination of  reading and playing two lines simultaneously. Students will practice this with songs of a wide variety of  structures and techniques.

Learning forte, mezzo-forte, mezzo-piano, and piano, identifying the difference and reproducing  them on piano.

Learning how to play three notes with one hand at the same time.

Intermediate

(Age range 5-7)

The intermediate course is meant for learning the second music language, bass clef, and preparing the  left hand for playing. Practicing acquired knowledge with games, drawings, and playing songs. For this  course, Classover has prepared the second book of songs for free, so your children can play them after  the class.

 Explaining the difference between bass and treble clef and exploring piano keys that are writen in the bass clef.

Understanding the difference between two C’s with games, drawing, and playing. 

 Learning 5 notes of the bass clef, identifying the difference, and practicing notes with games,  drawings, and songs.

 Forming correct hand posture.

Learning La and Ti and transfering the same learned techniques to the left hand – crossing  over/under fingers and changing the hand positions.

Master

(Age range 9-12)

Master course presents a wide variety of knowledge about classical music. Learning popular classical  songs and their adequate performance techniques. Creating a sense for different types of styles  (baroque, classic, romantic, 20th and 21st century). Classes are also enriched with short historical  lessons, music theory, listening and analysing other playing. With an interactive approach, students will  learn how to independently analyze a song structure, harmony progression, and create a story that can  relate to a song.

 With easy examples, students learn how to understand, notice and play songs with cohesive two  parts. Developing a sense for more complex songs, multi-tasking, and creative thinking.

 Understanding, noticing, and playing songs of three parts.

Learning song and the style of the most eminent composers of baroque music.

Learning song and the style of the most famous composers of the classic era.

Learning song and the style of the most eminent composers of the romantic era.

Learning song and the style of the most eminent composers of the romantic era.
